Flight Report/Bid Request Instructions
|
Required fields. Items that are required are denoted with a Time formats. Times should be entered in HHMM format. The time field have been given some smarts to decrease the amount of keying that is required. You can use either a ":" or "." to separate HH and MM (they are treated the same)... or you can just leave the separator character out. The following will show some examples of how time values may be entered and how they will show up on the report:
All times are validated when you enter a value and try to leave the field. If your input does not pass validation, you will receive an error message and must re-enter the value (a report cannot be sent with invalid times). When your time has passed validation, your input will change to show the entered time in the "report" format. If you use an incorrect time format, you will receive an error message and the form will not be mailed until the entry has been corrected. Date formats. Please use MM/DD/YYYY format for all dates. The flight date is defaulted for you when you first enter the form, based on a standard weekly report being filed on time. You can update the default date... just be sure to use the correct format. Aircraft values. Please use the appropriate aircraft "code" for the aircraft used for your flight. The appropriate values are listed at Gate B5 of the ORD web site, in the ORD Operations Manual, and as part of each line listing in the ORD Flight Schedule. Accelerated time. If you flew any line using the accelerated time feature of the Flight Simulator, please note this in the line comments area. This will allow us to properly credit your flight log. Number of Bids. If you are bidding on any scheduled lines, please bid on an extra line or two in case your first choice is not available. You should always include a minimum of three bids. Since most folks chose to fly one line in a week, the number of lines entry is defaulted to "1". Sample of the report/bid that is sent to the ORD flight scheduling office (note... this sample is properly spaced and formatted in Internet Explorer, but will most likely not space correctly in Netscape browsers):

All flights used PF98 and RWX 5.21. A storm was moving into the KSAV
area, but we were able to get out before it hit.

We had a nice shore line routing for all flights, which offered a real
nice view of Lake Michigan.
